YJ-S1 Liquid Rocket Engine
One of my first and, in my opinion, coolest projects in the Yellow Jacket Space Program developing a liquid rocket engine. YJ-1S uses liquid oxygen and jet 1-A kerosene as the propellants. My responsibilities involved pressure testing our combustion chamber, helping with the design and assembly of our ground feed system and engine stands.

I also participated in injector flow testing. Together with the team, we concluded that our aluminum injector acted as a heat sink. I helped to manufacture a stainless steel injector that we used in cryo-flows. The purpose of these flows is to use liquid nitrogen to find out if the heat-sinking issue could generate problems when liquid oxygen is used. Since then, the engine has been test fired approximately 10 times. The team also created a regen cooled engine which will soon enter a testing campaign.
